Online Zoom Webinar

We live in strange times. Not long ago, we welcomed Year 2020 with a sense of hope. Suffice to say, Year 2020 has turned out in a way none of us had expected.

February and March were frightening months. Covid-19 reared its ugly head, and we changed our way of life. Financial markets and equity values came down like a brick wall. There was nowhere to run, let alone hide. Some of us took stock of our portfolio and licked our wounds, wondering if we would ever recover. Some others ploughed money into the markets to pick up bargains. Others stood on the side lines, adopting a wait-and-see attitude. By then, governments around the world panicked and initiated various stimulus packages in a desperate attempt to prop up the economy and financial markets. We saw strong rallies in April and May.

The truth confronts us squarely in the face. Markets can indeed crash, and in no time at all. Warnings that markets can crash, long unheeded, began to make some sense. Nothing unveils our inner fears as much as adverse market conditions. Some started to wonder why they bought shares or funds which were clearly beyond their risk tolerance. Some could not fathom, how, as conservative savers, they ended up with excessive risky investments in emerging market funds. Many did not understand how investments fit into their overall financial objectives. There was a lack of process when it came to investing. We did things, on a piecemeal basis and on a whim.

Getting Started with Investing using a Process-Based Approach

The purpose of this webinar is to address that while we have different attitude to money, and that emotions play a role in investing, especially during a crisis, a process can help us anchor our investment decisions.

This webinar will cover the following topics:

1. Money attitude – What’s yours? Is there a right or wrong?

2. How do you gauge your risk appetite? What does risk appetite have to do with investing? Can we avoid emotional roller coaster?

3. What are investment funds? Why invest in actively managed funds when there are ‘cheaper’ options available?

4. Is there a process to tie everything together?

5. How some real-life clients invest according to their money attitude and risk profile, to attain their financial objectives.

6. How you can take the next step towards investing in funds.
