That’s why I love my job, and here’s how all came to be.
In 2010, I made a successful medical claim of a hefty sum. I realized the true value of my insurance plans because it was unthinkable to have to pay those fees out of my pocket. The event was so deeply ingrained in my memory that when the right time came, having left my corporate job of 7 years and seeking for change, it instantly steered my decision to pursue a career in financial planning and advisory. To sell a product that you believe in – wouldn’t you do the same?
I am presently Senior Financial Service Consultant with GEN Financial Advisory. I have served over 200 clients and managed over SGD1.6M claims to-date. A high customer referral rate of over 50% is testament to my service excellence. I am a certified Associate Financial Planner (AFPCM) and hold a BSc in Business. Earning the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) eligibility in 2020 marked a career milestone.
What I Do
Versatile across the full portfolio management of wealth protection, wealth accumulation, and wealth distribution, I serve a clientele mostly in their 30s to 50s. I have deep expertise in family planning for young couples, and retirement and legacy planning for individuals. As a representative of a financial advisory firm, I customize unbiased policy solutions in the client’s best interest across a network of 9 life insurers (Aviva, AXA, China Taiping, HSBC, Manulife, NTUC, Raffles Health, Singlife & Tokio Marine) and 11 general insurance companies (AIG, Aviva, AXA, BUPA, Chubb, Cigna, Etiga, MSIG, NTUC, Sompo & QBE).
I specialize in policy restructure. With the progressive socio-economic landscape, the insured value of old plans can lose relevance in today’s context. Coverage of policies purchased over 10 years ago no longer offer complete and up-to-date protection, excluding evolving scenarios around early critical illnesses and retirement planning. With a thorough review and objective evaluation of old policies by a financial advisor, a restructure can yield a more comprehensive coverage that incurs the same, if not, a lower premium.
Getting to Know You
Being curious about people is my innate personality, and my latest interest in Fengshui and Chinese horoscopes takes it even further. I am also an avid coffee lover. I attend coffee appreciation and barista classes, and proudly own a barista coffee machine at home. As such, client appointments are mostly at fabulous coffee joints, and passionate discussions about coffee-brewing methods are welcome!
