Protect • Budget • Grow
A Financial Wellness Review for Women
Over the years, I have spoken to many women who are trying to manage several financial priorities at the same time. We want to enjoy life today but we also know we need to save for tomorrow. We may be thinking about buying a home, building our investments, protecting our family or preparing for retirement.
And as life changes, our priorities change too. Sometimes, the difficulty is not knowing that we should plan. It is knowing what we should work on first. You may already have insurance, savings and investments in place but still lack clarity on whether your protection is adequate, how much you should be saving and investing, what property you can comfortably afford and whether you are preparing enough for the future while still enjoying life today.
Financial wellness is not about having everything perfectly planned. It is about understanding your finances, preparing for your needs and having greater confidence in your decisions.
This is why I created Protect • Budget • Grow. It is a practical financial wellness review to help you take stock of where you are today, understand what you have already done well and identify what may need your attention next.
Your Priorities Will Change as Life Changes
Our financial priorities do not stay the same throughout life.
At one stage, buying a home may be the focus. At another, raising children or supporting ageing parents may mean paying closer attention to protection and cashflow. Later, there may be more capacity to build investments and as retirement approaches, the focus may gradually shift towards retirement income, healthcare and long term care.
That is why financial planning is not something we do once and leave unchanged. The balance between protecting, budgeting and growing your money will naturally shift as your life changes. What matters is being clear about what deserves your attention now while keeping an eye on what lies ahead.
